Create application using the power of data and APIs!

UMSL|HACK is an annual hackathon hosted by the Information Systems Department at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. UMSL|HACK main goal is to create a platform to challenge/encourage college students to apply their skills by building an application in 36 hours! We know how valuable hackathons are to college students, while it might be intimidating to have a running application in 36 hours, we work very hard to provide participants with all the mentoring and help they need to get their app running. Our end goal is to make sure that all of our participants have learned something new in those 36 hours! We hope by participating in UMSL|HACK students will gain valuable skills as they will be working in a team to complete a specific task that requires diverse sets of skills.

UMSL Hack: Got API! will be held on Friday February 16th from 5:00 PM to Sunday February 18th 6:00 PM at the University of Missouri-St. Louis Express Script Hall. The theme of this event is "GOT API?", where students will work in teams of 3-5 people to create projects focused on creatively by harnessing the power of the API. Our goal is to see how effectively students work with existing data and interfaces to solve real problems much as they would encounter in day-to-day business.
